13th Annual LA 3-D Movie Festival Tickets For All Shows Are Available NOW!
3-D SPACE is pleased to announce the schedule for the 13th Annual Los Angeles Movie Festival, taking place December 8-11, 2016.
The festival opens on Thursday, December 8th, at 7:30pm with the World Premiere of the restored 1960 3-D feature film, SEPTEMBER STORM at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica. The program begins with the 3-D stop-motion animated short THE ADVENTURES OF SAM SPACE, which accompanied SEPTEMBER STORM on its original release in 1960 under the title SPACE ATTACK. Discussion following the feature with actor Asher Dann, Bob Furmanek of the 3-D Film Archive and Eric Kurland of 3-D SPACE.??
The LA 3-D Movie Festival continues at 8pm on Friday, December 9th, at the Velaslavasay Panorama in Los Angeles, with an evening of 3-D RARITIES from the 3-D Film Archive, including the US Premiere of the 1954 British 3-D film HARMONY LANE. HARMONY LANE has never before been seen in its native 3-D. In addition to HARMONY LANE, we will also take a look at some of the other 3-D RARITIES that have been rescued and restored by the 3-D Film Archive, and Bob Furmanek be in attendance to talk about how he finds and preserves these lost stereoscopic motion picture treasures.??
On Saturday and Sunday, December 10-11th, the festival returns to its home at the Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles for two full days of programming, starting with the 57th Hollywood International Stereo Photography Exhibition, followed by Block 1 of International 3-D Short Films. The LA 3-D Club will host its Holiday Party at the theater on Saturday evening, followed by a special live 3-D multimedia performance, SPONTANEOUS FANTASIA, by interactive artist J-Walt. Sunday’s screenings include a block of 3-D Student Films curated by Shannon Benna of Stereo Sisters, Block 2 of 3-D Short Films, TENDERNESS, an independent 3-D feature film from Poland, and more to be announced.
