January Meeting 1/15

Third Competition of the 2014-2015 Year

The next regular meeting of the LA 3-D Club will be Thursday, January 15, 7:15-9:45pm at the Armory Center For the Arts 145 N. Raymond, Pasadena, CA 91103.

The evening will include the third competition of the LA 3-D Club 2014-2015 year. The special theme for this month is NETTING. Club members may enter their images into the competition by using the uploader.

In addition to the competition, we’ll take a look at some pieces that were show at last year’s National Stereoscopic Association 3D-Con – Fantastic Faces: A Suite in 5 Movements by Ron Labbe, and California Wild by Mary Lynn Price and Bob Cranston.

The meeting will feature the first in a series of “How to Make Money with 3-D” talks by Jim Frazier:
‘Many LA 3-D Club members have asked the question “how can I make money from 3-D?” In this 15-minute talk, we’ll describe a way that anyone can make a profit from their 3-D work, without getting a job at a studio, and without even filling out a job application. In fact, you can be dirt broke and living in your car or under a freeway overpass, and still make money from 3-D by using this technique!’

We’ll also get a report on what’s new in 3-D at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show

The meeting is free, and open to the public.

Comments

  1. A very good description of the upcoming meeting. This type of description can be very useful in supplying needed information to both existing members and newbies. Suggestion: it would be even more attractive if it included pictures of the mentioned individuals and/or the content that will be presented, especially if those pictures were anaglyph and/or side-by-side transposed. The club logo is parallel and too widely spaced (105mm o4 4-1/8″ centers on my monitor) to freeview parallel. I am sure that some others have larger monitors, so transposed would work really well.
