Heritage Auction House is auctioning props and puppets from the Laika Studios’ 3-D animated films Coraline, ParaNorman and The Boxtrolls in their February auction. The auctions includes puppets, concept art. Set pieces and props from the studio. Attended the Reception On Tues. 2/10 from 6-8pm, AND the Auction on Thurs. 2/12. What a treat to get to see all these items close-up and have the opportunity to photograph them. The wine and hors d’oeuvres on Tues. were sumptuous, and the bidding on Thurs. went “Over-the-Moon”, with one puppet (the Evil Other Mother) reaching $42,000 +19.5% fee +Tx!!!!!!! That particular bidder spent OVER $100,000!!!! It was one of the most joyous crowds I’ve ever seen at an auction everone staying ’til the end(which ran almost 90mins over scheduled end time). In the Second Session, a set of 3 small puppet heads from George Pal’s “Sky Princess” brought $3600+19.5%+tx!
Not sure if anyone has the Heritage Auction Catalog, I’m looking to purchase it.
