Due to the worldwide public health emergency, upcoming physical meetings of the LA 3-D Club have been suspended. However, we are holding virtual meetings and we’re still holding our scheduled competitions.
The May virtual meeting of the LA 3-D Club will take place on Thursday, May 21 from 7:00pm – 8:30pm PDT.
The evening will include:
- “Tripod Boy to Dali Door” – Creative compositing in the third dimension. Club member Carl Wilson will discuss his 12 years of compositing people in 3D, Where he finds his inspiration, and an overview of how Tripod Boy and Dali Door were created.
- From the 3-DLegends.com website, curated by Susan Pinsky, we will take a look back in time to remember the work of Charley Van Pelt (1929-2015), who started as a View-Master salesman in 1947 and went on to become one of the main View-Master scenic photographers. David Starkman will share pictures and stories about Charley and invite those who knew him to join in the discussion with their own memories. - Continuing the tribute to Charley Van Pelt and the View-Master, we will take a look at the video slideshow VIEW-MASTER MEMORIES, by Wolfgang and Mary Ann Sell.
- We’ll close the meeting with a look at the ISU Club Online Digital Exchange 25C, which includes images made by photographers from all over the world, including members of the LA 3-D Club.
