LA 3-D Club Presents Stalingrad in 3-D
Sunday, June 22nd, 2pm at the Downtown Independent
Stalingrad is a 2013 Russian 3-D war drama set during one of the most important battles of World War II. The visually stunning film focuses on a band of Russian soldiers fighting to hold a strategic building in their devastated city against a ruthless German army. In the process, they become deeply connected to two Russian women who have been living there. Stalingrad is the first Russian movie completely produced in 3-D and is the first Russian film to be released in IMAX. The movie has been a commercial success in Russia, China, Poland, and the Ukraine and has now become the top-grossing film of all time in Russia.
The movie was shot natively in 3-D, LA 3-D Club member Matthew Blute was the stereographer, and club member Céline Tricart was the 3-D Rig Technician. Stalingrad had a very limited theatrical run in the US, and many people missed out on seeing it on the big screen, so we are pleased to present this special showing as part of our monthly screening series.
Join the LA 3-D Club for this special theatrical screening of Stalingrad including a Q&A with members of the 3-D crew, including post stereographer Nick Brown.
$5 at the door for current LA 3-D Club members
$10 at the door for non-members (admission is waived with current valid Student ID)
